If you love working outdoors, loves hands-on tasks, and has an interest in the logging industry, the Professional Logging program is the perfect place to start. You’ll learn the skills you need to work as a professional logger, from safely operating chainsaws to tree felling and machine operation.
The program offers real-world experience on a woodlot provided by Irving Woodlands, where you’ll practice using equipment like skidders, processors, and forwarders. You’ll also learn best management practices to ensure that logging is done safely and sustainably.
Upon completing the program, you’ll be eligible for an Apprenticeship through the Certified Logging Program (CLP), and you can even earn college credits through UMFK. Plus, with CLP certification, you’ll be ready to start your career in the logging industry right away.
