TJ is a highly motivated student who has participated in two CTE programs during his time at Region Two. During his junior year he participated in the Forest Management & Operations program, then transitioned to the Auto Collision program for his senior year, where he found his true passion. While attending Region Two TJ has proven himself to be a real “go-getter” taking advantage of any opportunity that has come his way. He has obtained all available certifications and participated in all available training opportunities presented to him during his time in the Auto Collision program, including earning his OSHA-10 certification, participating in Lift-It Right Training, and earning a variety of student-level ASE certifications in the auto collision field. Furthermore, he has demonstrated a deep understanding of applying the content learned in the classroom to his hands-on live-work during the shop component of this demanding trade program. When not in the classroom at Region Two or Hodgdon High School TJ can be found taking early college classes to further prepare himself for his post-secondary endeavors. TJ will graduate high school having completed many of the requirements for his first year of college. TJ has been recognized as Region Two’s Student of the Quarter during Quarter 1 of this year, and is also a recent inductee to Region Two’s chapter of National Technical Honor Society.
Some of the personal characteristics TJ possesses that have earned him this honor as Region Two’s Student of the Year are his adaptability and his willingness to push himself outside of his comfort zone to pursue his goals. TJ has demonstrated this by changing his post-secondary plans from attending a local community college, to traveling across the country to participate in UTI’s Auto Collision and Automotive Technician programs, which will provide him the opportunity to achieve his career goals at an accelerated rate. TJ is currently employed as a mechanic at Cyr & Sons, a local automotive shop, and looks forward to gaining a wealth of knowledge and certifications for Ford, GM, and other manufacturers that he can bring back to the shop to ensure he delivers the highest quality work to his customers.
