The objective of the Mechanical Services Technician Pilot program is to introduce students to the duties and responsibilities of a Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Technician. They will be learning the basics of each trade in their first year. Students will learn how to work with the tools of the trade, gain knowledge of fittings and supplies used in each component, hands on lab work with various types of equipment, classroom instruction time devoted to technical aspects of each trade. Possible live work opportunities in to the field in regards to different types of installations and exposure to the types of environments students could expect to be working in as they learn and become involved in this occupation. The program will focus on using a nationally recognized curriculum provided by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC of Maine).
