The 37th Annual Career and Technical Education Loggers’ Meet was held in Houlton on May 9th and 10th. It was hosted by Region Two Forest Management class. Students from Oxford Hills, Rumford and Farmington got to showcase their forestry skills. The event featured old time logging competitions such as axe throw and log roll and also new logging competitions like skidder obstacle course and log loader event. Excellent meals were provided by Region Two Culinary Arts Class and Instructors Cathy and Leanne Bither. Region Two’s Individual Game of Logging competitor Hugh Farrar placed second and the Team Game of Logging competitors Sam Dunbar, Eugene Ivey and Ben Corey placed first. Region Two was represented well by its students and they should be proud of their achievements.
